One of the areas that still requires much attention is the delivery of paediatric emergency care. Dental injuries in paediatric patients remains an under-recognized and under-reported emergency situation.
Preschool children, school students and teenagers are at risk of sustaining dental injuries from diverse aetiology in     daily life. This lecture will show a conservative and biological-based treatment approach for the management of dental injuries in primary and permanent dentition, as well as the importance of follow-up controls and recognition of late complications. First aid information and the management of tooth avulsion, as the most severe injury affecting young permanent dentition, will be emphasized.
