Abstract

We all agree that the primary goals of orthodontic treatment are function and aesthetics, and to achieve these goals, orthodontists make an effort to establish the "six keys to occlusion" outlined by Dr Andrews. However, not all adult patients can, or need to, achieve it. In many situations, only minor tooth movement (MTM) is enough. However, despite the term "minor", tooth movement involving a few teeth is in fact not that simple in mechanics.
In this presentation, various ways of using microimplants for MTM will be discussed.
