- > Acquire the right knowledge in the field of oral laser surgery.
- > Differentiate the various laser wavelengths.
- > Recognize the potential and the limits of the different laser effects.
One of the main applications of the laser in dentistry is represented by soft and bone tissue surgery of the oral cavity. Thanks to their physical characteristics, so called laser effects, we can have three different effects: photomechanical, photothermal and photochemical. The author, through the presentation of several clinical cases, shows the ability to make better use of different laser devices in some diseases of the oral mucosa (e.g. fibroma, papilloma, leukoplakia, mucocele, reactive inflammatory hyperplasia, mioblastoma etc.) and bone (osteonecrosis of the jaw, cyst etc.)
