- > Addressing risk factors for oral cancer in the dental office
Oral cancer is a considerable public health problem, even though oral cancer can be detected at a very early stage by routine visual and tactile examination of the oral cavity. Moreover, dentists should also inform their patients about corresponding risk factors, such as tobacco and alcohol consumption. Results showed sufficient knowledge about the main risk factors. A quite controversial perception of the level of educational training about the main risk factors was described, along with assessment of patients’ knowledge about risk factors.
