Peri-implantitis is an inflammatory process affecting the bone around dental implants. Currently, no protocol has demonstrated superiority for restoring the initial clinical and biological situation. So, prevention is paramount in the success and long-term stability of implant dentistry. This lecture will be focused on the different criteria that the clinician must consider to prevent peri-implantitis, from surgical approaches to restorative procedures, considering the biological aspects of this particular environment.
