Learning Objectives

The main objectives are:
  • > To know the clinical presentation of oral squamous cell carcinoma.
  • > To recognize the main types of other less common oral cancer types.
  • > To understand how we should diagnose oral cancer and the importance of the biopsy.

Abstract

This presentation will focus on the clinical manifestations of oral squamous cell carcinoma describing the early stage forms, such as erythroleukoplakia, and also late stages.We will also describe some less common malignancies such as lymphomas, metastasis, melanoma and hematologic malignancies: lymphomas, multiple myeloma and leukemia with their typical oral presentations.

After the lecture, the participant will:
  • > Understand the fundamentals of infection by HPV
  • > Understand the mechanisms of infectivity associated with HPV
  • > Identify the oral cavity lesions caused by HPV in the pediatric patient

Abstract

This presentation will cover the most important aspects of infection by HPV. The infectivity of the virus will be discussed in detail as well as the oral lesions associated with the different subtypes in the pediatric patient.Treatment will also be included in the discussion.
