PATIENT PERSPECTIVES AND DESIRED OUTCOMES
Peter Robinson (United Kingdom)

Learning Objectives

  • > Gain insight into the impact of dentine hypersensitivity on sufferers’ everyday lives
  • > Consider the role of assessing quality of life in patients with dentine hypersensitivity
  • > Asses the need for evolving dentine hypersensitivity management solutions to meet patients’ needs

Abstract

Dentine hypersensitivity is often characterized as a short, sharp pain. Recent research is demonstrating that dentine hypersensitivity can also have a significant impact on oral health related quality of life. This presentation will bring to   life the impact of the condition on sufferers and consider the need to continue to evolve solutions and management approaches, to help patients achieve long-term relief.

LATEST FORMULATION ADVANCEMENTS & VISUALIZATION
Christabel Fowler (United Kingdom)

Learning Objectives

  • > Understand how toothpaste formulations can be tailored to meet specific patient needs
  • > Consider the role of new visualization techniques to better understand dentine hypersensitivity and treatment
  • > Learn how a new toothpaste formulation has been developed to deliver fast relief of dentine hypersensitivity

Abstract

Quickly occluding exposed dentine tubules is an important therapeutic target. With the average dentine tubule  diameter being less than 1µm, pioneering visualization techniques can help better understand and tackle dentine hypersensitivity. This presentation will introduce a unique toothpaste formulation that has been engineered for speed, to help patients achieve fast relief and long-lasting protection from the pain of dentine hypersensitivity.

EVIDENCE-BASED EFFICACY – CLINICALLY PROVEN FAST RELIEF
Jonathan Creeth (United Kingdom)

Learning Objectives

  • > Consider how the new toothpaste formulation can help patients achieve fast relief and long-lasting protection from dentine hypersensitivity
  • > Review the clinical evidence supporting the efficacy of a new toothpaste formulation for dentine hypersensitivity
  • > Recognize the benefits of long-term management of dentine hypersensitive on patients’ quality of life

Abstract

Most dentine hypersensitivity clinical studies have focused on achieving relief over periods of weeks. As Sensodyne continues to evolve their range of sensitivity relief toothpastes to meet patient needs, the focus has been to help sufferers achieve fast relief. This presentation will take you through the 10+ clinical studies supporting the new stannous fluoride formulation of Sensodyne Rapid Relief and bring-to-life the impact on patients’ quality of life.
