Learning Objectives

  • > Distinguish the different bone type defects that are encountered in endodontic microsurgery
  • > Understand the importance of bone regeneration techniques and apply the correct one when necessary
  • > Discover the microscope as a powerful clinical tool for unveiling and treating the alveolar bone defects without raising a flap
  • > Learn how to treat big bone defects with autologous bone blocks grafts

Abstract

No matter how beautifully the clinician may have performed microsurgery, eventually bone defect will dictate the final prognosis of the therapy. This presentation will provide the clinician with practical information for success, not just in standard clinical cases but also in the most complex ones.

In an ideal situation, implants should be placed right after the tooth extraction. Magnification allows the clinician to  treat the alveolar bone defects encountered at the time of the implant placement without raising a flap.

Incredible bone augmentation in height and width can be achieved by using autologous bone graft blocks.
